KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has urged all communist parties to come forward for left unity.
At a programme ‘Nepal’s Geo-Political Status: Challenge and Way Forward’ organized here today by Nepal-China Himalayan Friendship Society, he urged the left forces to relinquish existing ruling alliance and come forward for left unity.
Oli, also the former prime minister, said all left parties should come together to run a government. He further stressed the need for all political parties in the country to advance fundamental values of the nation i.e. nationality, democracy, good governance and development.
He shed light on a shared foreign policy of the parties to deal with neighbouring countries. “Nepal should strike good and balanced relations with China and India. Neighbouring nations should also not adopt double standards in maintaining relations with Nepal”.
He asserted that China and India are not allowed to encroach upon Nepali territory, pledging Nepal would not do so.
