Chhakka Panja 4 a much awaited comedy, satirical political Nepali movie has finally hit the theatres around Nepal. It stars Deepak Raj Giri, Dipaa Shree Niroula, Nirmal Sharma, Kedar Prasad Ghimire, Benisha Hamal, Neer Shah in pivotal roles. With the overwhelming response it received considering it was simultaneously released with 2.0 Chhadke. It performed good in advanced booking numbers in contrast to its rival 2.0 Chhadke. It is directed by Hem Raj BC who previously has directed movies like Hostel, Jerryy, Sambhodhan, Gajalu, Gangster Blues, The Break Up and Ghamad Shere. Let’s discuss more about the good and the bad about the movie.
Let’s start with the positives
The best part about Chhakka Panja series is the cast and actors that take the show to the next level. Actors like Deepak Raj Giri, Kedar Prasad Ghimire take the show to the next level. Especially Kedar prasad Ghimire steals the show with his humor and one liners that make the audience laugh generously. Benisha Hamal also nails her role of a news reporter who becomes integral part of Raja’s Team. Other cast as well do justice to their role. We just wish that other actors like Jitu Nepal and Sitaram Kattel that were originally part of the series to be present in future ventures as well.
The typical Chhakka Panja humor is present in the movie. Actors like Deepak Raj Giri, Kedar Prasad Sharma, Buddhi Tamang carry the show forward with their perfect comic timing and humor. The humor is one of the good part about the movie.
Since it is a political drama movie the message it gives and emphasizes and the real world problems of the country are well portrayed in the movie.
The first half
The first half of the movie has good pacing and will keep you engaged and wanting for more. The atmosphere of the movie changes as soon as Kedar Prasad Ghimire comes on screen in a good way. The sequences and plot is overall good in the first half.
With this now let us talk about some of the negatives of the movie.
The second half
The pacing in the second half goes out of the place for most of the time. Even though it gets better in the last arc of the movie the pace at which the story progresses is a little bit sluggish.
The ending of the movie was a bit dissatisfying because it left the failed to connect the dots that happened in the last part of the movie. Sometimes letting the audience connect the dots by themselves works in certain movies but it wasn’t the same case with this one. The ending of the movie could have been more polished and should have been given a good conclusion.
With this lets conclude the review on this movie. It is a family friendly movie that emphasizes on the socio-political issues in the country. The humor is on point and is good a watch on the weekend with family or friends. I would overall rate the movie 7 out of 10. The only problem I have is the conclusion which could have taken it to a whole new level. Do let us know your thoughts about this movie in the comments and share your experience.
