Election begins in Ilam, Suhang confident of winning the election

Ilam, April 27: The by-election of Ilam constituency number 2 has started. Voting started from 7 am.

Suhang Nemwang, who is a candidate from CPN-UML, has casted his vote early morning.

It is said that peaceful polling is going on in the constituency. After the untimely demise of former Speaker and senior leader of CPN UML Mr Subash Nemwang, the Election Commission has carried out the by-election with the recommendation of the government.

Speaking after voting, CPN-UML candidate Nemwang said that he was feeling excited. He also said that the situation of the election made him emotional.

He recalled that he came with his father a year and a half ago for the election and said that he was confident of winning the election because of the love shown by the voters in the house-to-house campaign.

There are 19 candidates in the election for the member of the House of Representatives in Ilam-2. Voting continues in 159 sub polling stations of 79 polling stations.

There are 1 lakh 14 thousand 879 voters in Ilam 2 which has 52 wards.

According to reports, the major contest will be among four candidates: Suhang from CPN UML, Dambar Khadka from Nepali Congress, Degendra Limbu from independent and Milan Limbu from Rastriya Swatantra Party.
