
Kathmandu, May 21: Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Dr. Bishwanath Paudel. The ceremony was held today at the Supreme Court, where Chief Justice Raut formally swore in the economist.
On Tuesday, the Cabinet meeting decided to appoint economist Dr. Paudel as the new Governor. To select the Governor, the government had formed a three-member committee led by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed Governor Dr Paudel has officially assumed office.
Immediately after taking the oath of office from Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, Governor Paudel reached the central bank’s office in Baluwatar, where he formally took charge of his responsibilities.
