China’s richest man Jack Ma in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, June 27: Jack Ma, the owner of the Chinese company Alibaba Group and a Chinese businessman, has arrived in Nepal.

Immigration officials have informed that he landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Tuesday morning on a Boeing 737 Max chartered plane.

Gyanendra Bhul, co-spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, informed that there were 6 crew members on his jet, which came to Kathmandu from Dhaka, Bangladesh. Although it is said that Jack Ma came to Kathmandu for a business trip, the exact details about the purpose of his visit to Kathmandu have not been released.

He is scheduled to leave from Kathmandu to Lahore in Pakistan on Thursday, June 29.

Born in Huangzhou, China, Jack Ma founded the Alibaba Group in 1999 after leaving the teaching profession. Alibaba Group was established with $60,000 collected from 18 friends. Known as the “Amazon of China”, the company’s market value has reached more than 1 billion dollars.

In 2020, after criticizing the government, Jack Ma suddenly disappeared from public life and appeared in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, in November.

Recently, Jack Ma has been known as an entrepreneur who gives inspirational speeches along with business. The sermons he gave to the youth in different cities are popular all over the world.
