KATHMANDU: Chinese State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi returned home today after concluding a three-day visit to Nepal.

Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Poudyal, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi, Chief of Staff Dr Durga Bahadur Subedi, Foreign Ministry and senior officials of the Chinese Embassy here bade farewell to the Chinese special guest at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

Foreign Minister Wang, who is visiting Nepal at the friendly invitation of Foreign Minister Dr Narayan Khadka, arrived here on Friday leading a 19-member delegation.

During his visit to Nepal, Minister Wang Yi met President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, former Prime Ministers KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ separately.

During the visit, a delegation led by the Foreign Ministers of Nepal and China held bilateral talks on Saturday and officials from both the countries signed nine agreements on enhancing mutual cooperation.

Likewise, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi handed over the model key of the newly constructed Pokhara Regional International Airport to Nepal’s Foreign Minister Dr Narayan Khadka. The Pokhara Airport was constructed under Chinese assistance and over 92 percent of the work has been completed.
