Chitwan Rhinos start with a winning note with Tanvir’s magnificent bowling



Kathmandu, Dec 2: Chitwan Rhinos began their Nepal Premier League (NPL) campaign with a victory. In the first match held on Sunday morning, Chitwan defeated Kathmandu Gurkhas by 5 wickets, earning 2 points.

Chasing a meagre target of 112 runs set by Kathmandu, Chitwan achieved it in 17 overs with the loss of 5 wickets.

For Chitwan, Santosh Karki remained unbeaten, scoring the highest 28 runs. He faced 31 balls, hitting 2 fours and 1 six. Luc Benkenstein contributed 22 runs, while Sharad Vesawkar remained unbeaten on 11.

Despite Shahab Alam taking 3 wickets for Kathmandu, it was not enough to stop Chitwan from securing the win.

Earlier, Sohail Tanvir’s impressive performance with 5 wickets limited Kathmandu to 111 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs after they lost the toss and batted first.

For Kathmandu, Sumit Maharjan scored 29 runs, and Michael Levitt contributed 25 runs. Sohail Tanvir of Chitwan bowled 4 overs, conceding 21 runs and taking 5 wickets. Tanvir was Player of the Match. #NPL #nepal #cricket
