Kathmandu, Jan 27: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a charge sheet at the Special Court today against Bharat Kumar Acharya, former Senior Engineer of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
According to the CIAA, Acharya has been charged with accumulating disproportionate assets by abusing his official position and acting against professional ethics. The charge sheet was filed after he failed to provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the sources of his wealth accumulated during his service period.
CIAA Spokesperson Suresh Naupane informed that Acharya’s assets acquired from Magh 6, 2048 BS, the date he entered government service as an Engineer (Gazetted Third Class), to Ashad 6, 2080 BS, were examined.
The investigation revealed that the source of assets worth Rs. 67,891,015 could not be established. Accordingly, the CIAA has sought confiscation of the said amount and legal action against Acharya. #nepal #CIAA
