Kathmandu, July 24: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested Mrigendra Nath Rimal, the suspended Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Micro Insurance, in connection with a case involving alleged financial irregularities and violations of securities and insurance laws.
Rimal, who had been on the run, was arrested on Thursday from Sifal, Ward No. 7 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, police said.
The government had filed charges against him under the Securities Act and the Insurance Act. Authorities alleged that Rimal was involved in the case alongside Dipak Bhatt and several others, leading to his inclusion on the list of absconding suspects.
Following his arrest, Rimal, who had already been suspended from his position as CEO, was produced before the Kathmandu District Court in Babarmahal for further legal proceedings. #nepal
