Kathmandu. The General Election Observation Committee (GEOC) said that the citizens’ enthusiasm in voting was not seen in the elections of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly held today.
Publishing the preliminary report of the election, GEOC said that although the number of voters is expected to increase, it is not possible to believe that the total ratio of voting can be more encouraging than in the past.
According to the report, it is said that most of the political parties/actors follow the election code of conduct in general which itself a satisfactory one.
GEOC concluded that since the election process and management has been improved, easy, convenient, peaceful and acceptable, it can make a significant contribution in making democracy mature and strong.
