Cloudy conditions likely in hilly region today



Kathmandu, June 4: Due to the influence of a low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere near the western region of the country, along with local winds, there is a possibility of rain in the mountainous and hilly areas of the country, while heat is likely to increase in some parts of the Terai region.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the weather is currently generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly areas of Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

Meanwhile, it is partly cloudy in the rest of the hilly regions and mainly clear in most areas of the Terai.

Light rain is currently occurring in one or two places within the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.

The division stated that on Thursday afternoon, the weather will remain generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly regions, and partly cloudy in the Terai region.

There is a possibility of moderate rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in a few places of the mountainous and hilly regions, as well as in one or two locations of the Terai areas in Madhesh and Koshi provinces.

Additionally, temperatures are expected to rise in the Terai regions of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, the weather will remain generally cloudy in the mountainous parts of the country, partly cloudy in the hilly regions as well as the Terai areas of Madhesh and Koshi provinces, and mainly clear in the remaining Terai areas.

There is a chance of light rain or snowfall in one or two places of the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, as well as the mountainous parts of Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

Furthermore, the division noted that moderate rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning could occur in a few places of the mountainous and hilly regions, and in one or two locations of the Terai areas in Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.

As temperatures are likely to rise in the Terai regions of Madhesh and Koshi provinces, the division has urged everyone concerned to adopt precautionary measures and stay updated with the latest weather information.
