CoAS General Sigdel takes stock of UNIFIL, UNDOF Mission



Kathmandu, Sept 27: The Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) of Nepal Army, General Ashok Raj Sigdel, has inquired about the United Nations UNIFIL Mission for Peacekeeping in Lebanon and UNDOF Mission in Syria.

According to Nepal Army Directorate of Public Relations, CoAS Sigdel received  the security situation of Lebanon and gathered information through virtual means. During the meeting, senior officials of the Nepal Army were also present.

During discussions and interactions with the Force Commanders of the UNDOF Mission and Deputy Force Commander of the UNIFIL Mission, the Army Chief was briefed on the latest security situation and developments in Lebanon.

On the occasion, he instructed the force commanders and officials to carry out their duties diligently while remaining prepared for security challenges. He commended the Nepalese peacekeepers for their discipline and dedication, even in difficult conditions.

Currently, the Nepalese peacekeepers deployed in these missions are safe, the Army said.

Presently, Israel has been bombarding Southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah with full force. According to reports, more than 800 people have been already died due to Israeli action. #NepalArmy #army #Syria #Lebanon
