CoAS Thapa honoured with ‘Academy Hall of Fame’



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army Chief General Purna Chandra Thapa was honoured with ‘Academy Hall of Fame’ award at Nepal Military Academy, Kharipati, Bhaktapur, amidst an induction ceremony on Tuesday.

According to Nepal Army’s Directorate of Public Relations, the Academy has honoured the COAS Thapa in line with the tradition of honouring those who have achieved the highest rank among the local and foreign students who have received training from their respective training centers, institutes, and colleges in different countries.

Chief of the Academy Brigadier General Premdhoj Adhikari handed over the certificate with the title at the function.

CoAS Thapa is the second student of the Nepal Army to receive the highest rank of Commander-in-Chief from the Academy. Earlier, this honour was conferred on former army chief Rajendra Chhetri.

On the ceremony, Secretary to Ministry of Defense, former army chiefs, among others were present.
