Kathmandu: The informal meeting of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Secretariat has decided to urge NCP Chairperson and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and another Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to call for the secretariat meeting, seeking resolution to the ongoing issues within the party.

In the meeting called by Chairperson Dahal at NCP central office at Dhumbarahi on Friday, the participants concluded that they would collectively request to Chairperson Oli so as to make the performance of the party more effective and address the dissenting voices surfaced in the party lately, shared NCP Spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha.

Although the executive chairperson of the party could also summon the formal meeting of the party, the participants at the Friday meeting decided to request Chairperson Oli to move ahead on the basis of consensus.

The five members of the secretariat including Dahal would jointly call on Oli on Saturday and do the needful, informed Spokesperson Shrestha.

Among the nine members in the secretariat, senior leader Jhalanath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Vice-President Bam Dev Gautam and Spokesperson Shrestha were in attendance in the meeting Friday.

General-Secretary Bishnu Prasad Poudel, members Ishwor Pokharel and Ram Bahadur Thapa were however absent in the meeting.
