Kathmandu, Dec 7: The committee formed for recommending the names for the officials at transitional justice mechanism has listed 40 persons.
Eight persons have been selected for the chairs of The Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission on Inquiry of Enforced Disappeared Persons while 32 are for members, according to committee member and spokesperson Khamba Bahadur Khati.
He shared that those listed for the posts of Chair in the two commissions are Dilliraj Acharya, Achyut Prasad Bhandari, Bijay Sijapati, Bishworaj Koirala, Sudip Pathak, Mahesh Thapa, Sher Bahadur KC and Kashiraj Dahal.
The government had formed the recommendation committee under the chairmanship of former Chief Justice Om Prakash Mishra on October 18. The committee was given two months’ term.
A total of 156 persons had applied at the recommendation committee, seeking appointment at the commissions. The committee’s term is expiring on December 17. #trc #nepal
