Chitwan, July 16: Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel, said the government has advanced concrete move with long-term planning for reforms in educational system of the country.
Talking to journalists at Bharatpur Airport in Chitwan today, Minister Pokharel, also the government spokesperson, shared the government’s ongoing efforts towards transforming the education sector in a coherent and scientific manner.
Responding to a question about quality of the public school, Minister Pokharel said, “We have initiated overhauling the overall curriculum by designating a taskforce. Tasks related to teachers’ training have also been taken ahead. Works are in progress to advance school infrastructure reforms in a systematic and scientific way”.
Investment made in education sector may take time for harvesting results, he said, adding, “We should patiently initiate policy action as investment in education takes 15-20 years for tangible results”.
Minister Pokharel clarified that the Education Regulations would be introduced also taking into consideration the future generation and technology.
“Technology and Artificial Intelligence have reached far and wide. The bill would be brought considering the developments”.
The government is ever positive to enable environment for private sector to advance their business, he clarified, noting that some efforts are being made to timely regulate the imminent problems in educational consultancy related sector.
Minister Pokharel expressed the government’s commitment to further improve the education sector stating that the consultancies should provide proper guidance to end up the situation where students are pushed in a trouble. #nepal #rss
