Kathmandu, April 29: The Nepali Congress has removed senior leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula as its parliamentary party leader in the National Assembly. The decision was taken by parliamentary party leader Bishmaraj Angdembey as part of a broader internal reshuffle.
According to party sources, Sitaula had been politically active outside the party’s mainstream line, contributing to internal factional divisions. He was opposing the chairmanship of Gagan Kumar Thapa who was elected from the Special General Convention.
With party approval, Angdembey has appointed Kamala Devi Panta as the new leader of the party in the National Assembly, in line with the party’s parliamentary statute.
The party has also made additional leadership changes in the House of Representatives of Nepal. Abhisek Pratap Shah has been named deputy leader, Bashana Thapa as chief whip, and Nishkal Rai as whip. #Nepal
