Dhangadhi, Sept 2: Various speakers have emphasized on making mutual coordination among the three tiers of government further effective for governance reforms.
At a ‘governance reforms dialogue series’ organized by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) in Dhangadhi on Tuesday, the stakeholders argued that the service recipients could reap benefits only when the coordination and collaboration were further enabled for governance reforms.

They recommended further clarifying the list of powers bestowed to three tiers, fixing flaws of the agencies including Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and ensuring arrangement for impartial appointment of independent, qualified and deserving individuals as the office bearers of the constitutional commissions and justices.
Among other recommendations were taking initiatives for reforms for administrative independence at local level and enforcing rule of law mandatorily to check anomalies and aberrations surfaced in some affairs at local level.
The speakers also advised to bring reforms in civil service for enabling role, capacity and accountability of various levels of the government for strengthening federalism. They called for improvements in budget credibility and public procurement for result-oriented public financial management. #nepal #rss
