COVID-19: 815 confirmed infections, five deaths in 24 hours

KATHMANDU: In the last 24 hours, 815 people have been confirmed to be infected with COVID-19, while five people have died due to the infection.

During that period, 4,534 samples were tested. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 2,411 people were tested by PCR and 2,123 people were tested by antigen method.

During that period, 476 people have been recovered from coronavirus infection. Along with this, the number of people who are recovered of infection has reached 974,295. According to the ministry, the infection-free rate is 98.2 percent.

Currently, the number of active infected is five thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine. So far, the death toll from Coronavirus in Nepal has reached 11,982. A total of 5,677 are in home isolation, 192 in institutional isolation, 60 in ICU and eight in ventilators.

Currently, there are more than 500 active infected districts in Kathmandu and Lalitpur, while Kailali and Morang are among the districts with more than 200 infected. Manang, Kalikot and Humla are among the zero infected districts. Among the three districts of the valley, there are currently 2,922 active infections in Kathmandu, 868 in Lalitpur and 89 in Bhaktapur.
