CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli won HoR seat by double votes

Damak: Chairman of CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Jhapa Constituency No. 5. Oli defeated Nepali Congress candidate Khagendra Adhikari by a margin of 28,576 votes.

This is Oli’s sixth victory in the parliamentary elections. Oli was supported by the Rajendra Lingden-led Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) in this constituency.

Chairman Oli received a total of 52,319 votes. Congress candidate Adhikari got only 23,743 votes.

In this constituency 102,150 votes were cast.

Oli has been elected from Jhapa in most of the elections since 2048 BS, except for the first Constituent Assembly election in 2064 BS. He was elected from Jhapa-6 in the parliamentary elections of 2048 BS, 2051 BS and 2056 BS.

But Chairman Oli lost election in the Constituent Assembly election in 2064 BS.
