BIRATNAGAR: CPN (UML)’s candidates have been elected mayor and deputy mayor of the Rangeli Municipality in Morang district.
Dilip Bagadiya has been elected mayor with 12,851 votes. He defeated Modaraj Ghimire of Nepali Congress, who collected 9,061 votes.
Similarly, Bhuma Kumari Parajuli won deputy mayor post with 11,790 votes. Her closest contender Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal’s Pannalal Mandal got 5,175 votes.
UML enjoyed a landslide victory in all nine wards in the municipality winning ward chairperson posts as well as ward members except for Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal’s Saraswati Devi Baharadar who was elected ward member in ward no. 6.
