Dadeldhura: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has led the vote counting under the election to the Member of House of Representatives (HoR) in Dadeldhura.
Independent candidate Sagar Dhakal is following the NC candidate in the vote count. The Prime Minister has obtained 1,404 votes in the counts of 2,956. Dhakal has got 730 votes while Nepali Congress (BP)’s Karna Bahadur Malla has got 527.

KP Sharma Oli takes initial lead in Jhapa-5
CPN (UML) Chairperson and the party’s candidate for the House of Representatives (HoR) election from Jhapa constituency-5, KP Sharma Oli, is leading the initial vote counts tally.
As per the preliminary reports, Oli has secured 3,212 votes in the counts of 6,215, according to Election Officer Damber Kafle.
Likewise, Left-Democratic Alliance’s candidate Khagendra Adhikari is following Oli with 1,523 votes.
The voter turnout in the constituency was 66.27 percent in Jhapa-5.
Meanwhile, independent candidates have led in the district’s two constituencies. Vote counting in four constituencies, out of five, has kicked in Jhapa while the count in Jhapa-1 is awaited.
In the initial counting tally, independent candidate Bhadra Prasad Nepal (Swagat) has led in Jhapa-3 and independent candidate Shambhu Dhakal ‘Suskera’ has led in Jhapa-4.
Likewise, Rajendra Lingden of Rastriya Prajatantra Party is ahead of his competitors in Jhapa-3

Vote counting kicks off in Bhojpur
Vote counting under the elections to the Member of House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly has begun in Bhojpur, the district in Province 1.
According to Chief Returning Officer Maniram Neupane, counts goes on for the Province Assembly (1) from late evening at the Bhojpur Municipality’s meeting hall.
The voter turnout in the district was 50.39 percent and the voting completed cordially in all 157 polling centers in nine local levels in the district.

Ballot boxes to arrive district headquarters by tomorrow in Taplejung
The government officials have said that ballot boxes from mountainous region in Taplejung district would arrive to the designated vote counting places by tomorrow.
Given the geographical remoteness of the places where the polling centres were set up, lack of transportation and absence of helicopter service have led the election staff in those polling centres carry the ballot boxes on foot to the designated places.
Ballot boxes from Olangchunggola in Phaktanglung Rural Municipality-7 and Yabla and Ghunsa in Phaktanglung Rural Municipality-6 would reach vote counting place only by coming Tuesday, according to the Chief Returning Officer, Taplejung.
Although those boxes were supposed to carry in helicopters, the ballot boxes will be supplied manually and using vehicles, said Chief District Officer in Taplejung, Mahesh Kumar Pokharel.
Pokharel added, “The ballot boxes will be collected at Iladanda from all four polling stations in the mountainous region. The boxes will then arrive the designated vote counting place by Tuesday evening in vehicles.”
Ballot boxes from 119 polling centres were collected to Phungling in the district headquarters.
A total of 48,355 votes were cast in Taplejung district, informed the District Election Officer, Dinesh Khanal. The total number of voters registered with the Election Commission of Nepal is 88,285.
Vote counting will begin once ballot boxes will be collected from all polling centres, according to the Election Office in Taplejung.

Wind hampers transport of ballot boxes in Dolpa
Transportation of ballot boxes to the Dolpa district headquarters has been affected due to strong wind in the district’s upper belt.
District Election Office Dolpa’s Chief Ram Bahadur Sarki said that transport of ballot boxes from some sites has been hampered by the wind. Arrangements are in place to airlift the election materials from the local levels in the Upper Dolpa, which is hit by heavy snowfall
Of the eight local levels, ballot boxes from two local levels have been transported to the district headquarters Dunai. According to the Office, ballot boxes collected from Thulobheri and Tripura Sundari municipalities have safely reached the district headquarters for the counts.
However, the ballot papers received from Jagadulla and Mudkechula rural municipalities in the lower Dolpa are expected to be there by tomorrow morning.

Vote counting begins in Jumla, Achham
Vote counting under the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly has begun in Jumla-2 and Achham districts.
According to the Chief Returning Officer of Jumla, Bishnu Prasad Gautam, the counting started from this afternoon after an all-party meeting adding that the counting was initiated from five polling centres of Kanaka Sundari Rural Municipality.
The counting site is covered with fence to ensure safety of the counting, he said.
Likewise, the counting was started from Chaurpati Rural Municipality and Rama Roshan Rural Municipality in Achham district in Achham-1.
Of the total 79,036 voters in Achham-1, 41,643 votes were cast.

Vote counting begins in Nawalpur-2
Vote counting under the election to the Member of House of Representatives and Province Assembly has begun in Nawalpur-2. A total of 85,400 votes were cast during the voting for the twin elections held on Sunday.
According to the District Election Officer, Lal Prasad Sharma Bhusal, the district consisting of two constituencies recorded 66 percent voter turnout. The counting for the Nawalpur-1 is likely to kick off tonight.

Vote counting begins in Baglung, Baitadi
Vote counting under the election to the Member of House of Representatives and Province Assembly has begun in the Baglung constituency 1 and 2.
According to the Office of the Chief Election Officer, the counting is underway at the District Coordination Committee building (constituency 1) and at the Dhorpatan municipality -1 ( constituency 2).
Similarly, vote counting has kicked off in Baitadi. The counting is going on since 4:00 pm today, according to the Chief Election Officer Jayanand Paneru. The count goes in the newly constructed building of the District Hospital based in the district headquarters.

Vote counting begins in Saptari-3, NC taking the lead
Vote counting under the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly elections has kicked off in Saptari constituency no. 3 from this evening.
The counting is taking place at the Office of the Returning Officer at Shambhunath Municipality in the district.
As per the latest update, the Nepali Congress (NC) has taken the lead under the HoR. NC’s Dinesh Kumar Yadav is leading the vote counts tally with 519 votes, informed Assistant Election Officer Dhruba Prasad Niraula followed by CPN(UML)’s Tarakanta Chaudhary. Chaudhary, so far, has garnered 307 votes.
Likewise, Janamat Party’s Anish Ansari has got 136, according to the Office of the Returning Officer.

NC’s Sherchan wins in Mustang-1 (B)
Nepali Congress candidate for the Provincial Assembly election from Mustang constituency- 1 (B) Bikal Sherchan has won the election. Sherchan defeated his nearest rival Chandra Mohan Gauchan of CPN (UML) with the margin of 158 votes.
NC’s Sherchan got 2,723 votes while his rival Gaucham managed 2,565 votes.
The District Committee Chairman of the CPN (UML), Gauchan was elected the province assembly member of Gandaki in the last election.
The NC candidates have won the elections to House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly in Mustang district.

NC’s Gurung wins Province Assembly seat from Mustang
Nepali Congress’ Namdu Gurung won the election to the Province Assembly (1) from Mustang.
He secured 1,048 votes while his closest rival Indra Dhara Bista from the CPN (UML) got 793. A total of 14 votes were invalid. Meanwhile, vote count under the PA (2) is underway.
