
Kathmandu, Feb 24: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, has stressed on the need for skilled technicians and quality education to build a strong economy.
He said that producing skilled technicians would also help in import substitution by creating self-employment in the country. Addressing the 37th anniversary of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) here today, Minister Dahal stressed the need for producing skilled technicians through skilled-based education and transfer of technology.
He said youths who have received higher education are also going abroad for employment and stressed on the need of providing vocational and technical education along with theoretical education to reduce this trend.
Stating that CTEVT is providing technical education and vocational training in various rural areas of the country, Minister Dahal said that attention should also be given to make the trained and educated human resources self-employed and professional in the country itself.
On the occasion, he also inspected stalls of various materials and equipment prepared as part of their practical skills by the students of different schools affiliated to the Council. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the students who scored the highest grades and to the retired employees. Minister Dahal also released the journal published by the Council.
At the programme chaired by Council Member Secretary Mahesh Bhattarai, the speakers drew the attention of the government through the minister to formulate a timely law for the Council.#nepal #economy #rss
