Underground electrical conduit test successful in Bharatpur



Chitwan, Jan 24: Bharatpur Metropolitan City has successfully conducted the trial of first feeder of the underground electrical conduit in the city areas.

Mayor Renu Dahal inaugurated the test by switching on the feeder installed in the premises of Inland Revenue Office located at Bharatpur Metropolitan City-10. The activities were carried out in collaboration with Nepal Electricity Authority as per the Metropolis plan of making city free of electric cables, she said, adding it would help to develop the metropolis as a smart city.

Power has been supplied at Bharatpur Hospital, Old Medical College and District Police Office through underground electrical conduit from first feeder. Engineer of Pokhara-Bharatpur Distribution System Strengthening Project of NEA, Rajendra Poudel, mentioned that six-lane road of Bharatpur Metropolis and bypass road were going to be wire free trough 17 feeders. The Project has accomplished 70 per cent of such undertaking.

Contract for the undertaking was awarded to Tata Project Limited of India at Rs 1.30 billion to manage underground electric cable in the metropolitan city, Poudel added. NEA had forwarded the project with the help of Asian Development Bank. The completion of the project is expected within the current fiscal year. #nepal #electrical #rss
