Pakistan Embassy observes Marka-e-Haq Day with national pride in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu on Saturday observed Marka-e-Haq Day with solemnity and national pride amid a special ceremony held at the Embassy premises in Kathmandu.

Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal Abrar H Hashmi hoisted the national flag during the ceremony attended by Embassy officials, members of the Pakistani community, their families and friends of Pakistan. Messages from Pakistan’s leadership were also read on the occasion.

In his message, President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari said Marka-e-Haq demonstrated to the world that Pakistan’s deterrence is rooted in professional competence, tri-service coordination and the determination of its people. He paid tribute to the country’s armed forces and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq as a day of gratitude and remembrance, saying Pakistan had shown resilience in adversity and unity in defending its sovereignty. He praised the coordinated response of the country’s forces across land, sea, air and cyber domains.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said lasting peace in South Asia required addressing core regional issues, including the resolution of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of its people. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue, diplomacy and regional stability.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Abrar H Hashmi paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices of Pakistan’s Armed Forces and the resilience of the Pakistani people. He said Marka-e-Haq symbolizes Pakistan’s national unity, determination and steadfast commitment to defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity. #nepal
