Parsa, July 26: The emergency service of Narayani Hospital has been closed in protest against the assault on a doctor of the Hospital.
The emergency service has been closed since Sunday after doctors and health workers working in the emergency department decided to stay out of work in protest against the assault that took place on Saturday.
As a result, patients have been affected. According to hospital sources, the doctors have closed the service saying that there is no safe environment to work in the emergency room.
After 45-year-old Rajkumar Patel, a resident of Birgunj Metropolitan City-25, died during treatment on Saturday, his family members and relatives accused doctors of negligence in treatment and assaulted Dr Pramod Ram, a medical officer working in the emergency room. Seriously injured Dr Ram is being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the same hospital.
Meanwhile, the Nepal Medical Association has issued a statement today demanding that those responsible for the attack on Dr Pramod Ram be brought to justice. #nepal #rss
