Entrepreneurs import smartphone worth Rs 7 billion in two months

Kathmandu, Sept 27: In the first two months of the current financial year 2024/25, smartphones worth nearly Rs 7 billion have been imported, according to statistics obtained from the Customs Department. A total of 454,958 smartphones were imported during this period.

However, the largest imports during this time were petroleum products. Petrol worth Rs. 11 billion 652 million and diesel worth Rs. 13 billion 645 million were imported.

Additionally, LP gas worth Rs. 9 billion 425 million was imported. The import of vehicles also saw a significant increase, with motorcycles worth Rs. 2.94 billion and electric vehicles worth Rs. 2.43 billion being imported.

Nepal’s most exported items include carpets, tea, jute, and yarn. The highest amount of carpet worth Rs. 1 billion was exported, along with tea worth Rs. 1 billion 140 million. Jute, yarn, and juice were among the other top exported items. #import #export #smartphone #nepal
