Janakpurdham, Oct 29: The first president of Republic Nepal, Dr Ram Baran Yadav, has regretted that education and health sectors were compromised in Madhes while waging struggles for democracy in the country.
Addressing the 7th anniversary of the Rajarshijanak University in Janakpurdham on Monday, the former President commented that health and education sectors were ruined in the recent years. Madhes was once a centre of excellence having exemplary schools, he argued.
“It was the political leaders’ role to establish prominent schools in the beginning, and it’s the same politics that jeopardized education and health at present,” he shared the plight.
Similarly, Dr Yadav wondered why the natural resources and agricultural productions were declining in country’s southern plains.
On the occasion, Chairman of Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Nepal, Mahantha Thakur, said the State had hesitated to establish the Rajarshi Janak University, while the pressure mounted by the political front finally made it possible. “It is everyone’s duty to earn repute to the university now,” he called.
Similarly, former Deputy Prime Minister and House of Representatives, Bimalendra Nidhi, said they had launched campaigns from the district level to establish the Rajarshi Janak University. Even the fund was collected for it.
He further said it was as joyous moment the university was established six years back as it was during the establishment of loktantra.
Leading political persons as Chairman Thakur, leader Nidhi, member of Province Assembly Ram Saroj Yadav, who contributed to the establishment of the University, were honoured on the occasion.
Central and province level leaders from various political parties addressed the event. #nepal #janakpur #madhes #rss #RamBaran
