KATHMANDU: The Ex-Securityworkers Council, Nepal has demanded amendment of the Bill designed to amend laws on the Investigation of Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation Commission, 2071.

Suggestions by the stakeholders on the matter should be incorporated in the bill, the Council said at a press meet here on Thursday.

The Council has been expressing its concern about the Bill through various avenues.

The draft of the Bill has established security personnel employed by the then state as the perpetrators and it has favoured the then rebels, they blamed.

Former Deputy Inspector General of Police Bijaya Raj Bhatta and Chairperson of the Council Komal Bahadur Raut said the Bill was introduced with an ‘ill intention’.
