Kathmandu, Dec 22: Dr. Swarnim Wagle, Vice President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Member of Parliament, has alleged that the country have been marred by extreme policy corruption in recent times.
Speaking at the book release program written by Dr. Dilli Raj Khanal on Friday, a prominent economist and MP Mr Wagle said that appointments are also bought and sold based on policy settings in Nepal.
He opined that countries that provide grants to countries like Nepal should be tied to financial transparency. He said that if foreign aid agencies do not adhere to financial conditions, financial discipline and transparency, the corruption will increase beyond our control.
“Corruption of billions of rupees has become a usual business for leaders and bureaucrats. They just doctor papers and prepare documents as their will and interest. Even the appointments have been carried out based on financial transactions rather seeing their capabilities,” he further said, “Policy capture and allocating infrastructure projects through the collusion of contractors, leaders and employees have become a common practice.”
He further said that no one was ready to correct these anti-state spoilers.
