Kanchanpur, Feb 23: The Agriculture Knowledge Centre, Kanchanpur has provided a 50 percent grant to farmers engaged in commercial agriculture in the district.
The Centre has been supporting farmers with production materials, irrigation facilities, capacity building, and marketing of agricultural products. According to Agriculture Publicity Director Hari Prasad Paneru, assistance is being extended under the “one local-level, one agricultural produce” scheme, aimed at promoting commercial farming by utilizing local resources and potential.
Paneru said that Rs 4 million has been allocated for the programme, with 50 percent grants distributed to farmers in Krishnapur Municipality. Farmers from 40 groups and cooperatives involved in vegetable farming were selected for support. The Centre has also been providing essential agricultural tools and supplies.
The Centre has continued to assist farmers through training, technical consultation, and the distribution of tools to enhance production and productivity.
Local farmer Prem Bahadur Dagaura said the grants and technical assistance have helped farmers increase income at lower costs. “We have received support for seeds and marketing of our products, which has helped us become self-reliant,” he said. #nepal #subsidy #farmer
