Federal Parliament meeting begins tomorrow



Kathmandu, May 6: The regular session of the Federal Parliament (House of Representatives and National Assembly) will begin tomorrow, Sunday. As called by President Ramchandra Paudel, the session will start tomorrow at 4 pm at Parliament House in Baneshwar.

According to the Secretariat of the Federal Parliament, in the possible agenda of the first meeting of the session, the speaker is scheduled to recite the letter of the session convocation received from the President Office and the letter of ministerial appointments.

Likewise, in tomorrow’s meeting, the House Speaker is scheduled to nominate a member to preside over the meeting in his absence. Similarly, in the meeting, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dhanraj Gurung is scheduled to present the ‘Ordinance to amend some Nepal Acts related to the Provincial Code, 2080 BS’. At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Finance Dr. Prakasharan Mahat will present a proposal saying, “There should be a discussion on the various principles and priorities of the appropriation bill for the financial year 2080/81 (except the tax proposal)”.

The government’s upcoming budget and policies and programs were discussed in the meeting of the ruling coalition held today. In this session, the statement of annual policy and program, income and expenditure (budget) of the Government of Nepal will be presented.
