Five severely injured in Rukum West accident dead



Rukum, May 25: Five people, who were severely injured in a jeep accident took place today at Duli of Banfikot rural municipality-8 in Rukum West, have died.

Of them, four died amidst the process for taking them to a hospital while one passed away on the way to the hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Deuchan Khatri, 48 and Karna Bantha Magar, 70 of Sanibheri rural municipality-5, Rekha KC Khanal and her 22-day-old son Roshan KC of Banfikot rural municipality-8 and Shitala Kusari, 23, of Sanibheri-5, according to police inspector Bishnu Kumar Shrestha of District Police Office, Rukum West. Of them, Shitala died while being taken to the hospital.

Other 10 have been injured in the accident and of them, four have been sent to the Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital, Kohalpur. They were transported via a helicopter.

They are Prem Bantha Magar, 40, Lalit Bantha Magar, 22, two-year-old Prasidhha Kusari, and Anita KC, 20 of Sanibher rural municipality-5.

Others injured Karnabir Pun, 46, Manisha Basnet, 17, Rita Khatri, 17, Kalpana KC, 21, Gambhir Kusari, 46 and Deepak Bantha Magar, 35 of Sanibheri-5 are under medical treatment at the Rukum District Hospital, Salle.

The jeep with the registration number plate (Lu 1 Ja 1747) fell some 400 meters off the road at Motikhola as it was en route to district headquarters Khalanga from Melchaur of Sanibheri rural municipality-5.
