FNCCI and CNI to cooperate on financial issues



Kathmandu, July 3: The largest umbrella organization of Nepali industries and entrepreneurs, Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) have come closer to find ways to mitigate the problems of economic downturn in the country.

It was the first such meeting between these two rival organizations.

The leadership of both organizations emphasized on cooperation in the program organized by FNCCI today to congratulate and wish the newly elected officials and executive committee of the CNI.

Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of FNCCI, congratulated the newly elected President of CNI, Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, and said that cooperation between the two organizations is necessary as the country’s economy is in a difficult situation. He said, “We have succeeded in bringing good results through cooperation in the past and we should continue to do so.”

According to President Dhakal, FNCCI, CNI and Nepal Chamber of Commerce will be submitting joint suggestions on the monetary policy for the coming financial year on Thursday. This will give a positive message in the economic sector as well.

Similarly, Agrawal, President of CNI, said that cooperation between the two organizations is necessary for policy advocacy.

Expressing his gratitude for the welcome of the FNCCI, he said, “We should make the cooperation more effective.” A new working committee was elected under the chairmanship of Chairman Agrawal. Officials and executive committee members of FNCCI and CNI participated in Monday’s discussion.
