FNCCI nominates high-level expert group



Kathmandu, May 2: A high-level expert group has been formed in the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI). In order to make the role of the private sector in the economy more effective, a high-level expert group has been formed by the Federation, with special personalities who have gained expertise in various fields.

The group includes former vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission, Dr Govinda Pokharel, former member of the commission, Dr Ganesh Gurung, former secretaries of the Government of Nepal, Purushottam Ojha and Shishir Dhungana, economist Keshav Acharya and Dr Kalpana Khanal.

The first meeting of the expert group was held on Tuesday at the Secretariat of the Federation. Chandra Prasad Dhakal, president of the FNCCI, expressed his belief that the formation of the expert group would provide more support to effectively submit the recommendations of the FNCCI to the government.

In the first meeting, it was emphasized that the central bank and the government should increase the confidence of the private sector in order to improve the economy from the current economic situation.
