FNCCI, Sudurpashchim government sign MoU for investment



Kathmandu, Oct 21: An agreement has been reached between the government of Sudurpaschim Province and the Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) on the issue of cooperation for investment promotion and development activities.

Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province Kamal Bahadur Shah and President of FNCCI Chandra Prasad Dhakal signed the memorandum of understanding in a program held at FNCCI Head Office in Kathmandu on Saturday.

According to the agreement, the provincial government and the Federation have pledged to cooperate in promoting investment in the Sudurpashchim Province and contribute to the economic development and prosperity of the province. Accordingly, the Sudurpashchim Investment and Development Conference will be held on Falgun 23 and 24, 2080 BS.  FNCCI President Dhakal promised to work with the entire mechanism of the FNCCI to make the conference a success.

The third executive committee meeting of the Federation had decided to organize the investment conferences in all provinces. In the same context, the first agreement was signed with the government of Sudurpaschim Province. President Dhakal said that this will help in the economic development of the province.

In the program, Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province Kamal Bahadur Shah expressed confidence that the investment and development conference scheduled in collaboration with the Federation will be effective. Shah expressed the commitment of the provincial government to be supportive for investment facilitation in the province.

Naresh Shahi, Minister of Finance and Planning of Sudurpaschim government, said that there are enough opportunities for investment in Sudurpaschim province. He said that the upcoming conference will help to attracting investment in the province.

In the event, the vice-presidents of the federation, Hemraj Dhakal and Jyotsana Shrestha, and the chairman of the Federation of Investments and Foreign Affairs Forum, Manoj Paudel, expressed their views on the validity of the cooperation and agreement.
