Former Chief Secretary Baikuntha Aryal resigns

Kathmandu, Nov 18: Dr. Baikuntha Aryal, the former Chief Secretary of Nepal, has resigned. On Sunday, after attending a meeting at the National Planning Commission, he submitted his resignation at the Secretariat of Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal.

Aryal had been acquitted of corruption charges related to the printing of excise duty stickers. On Sunday, as per the resignation letter, he had reported to the National Planning Commission in the role of a Special Officer.

He was implicated in a corruption case related to the printing of excise duty stickers, which had been filed by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). However, he was acquitted by the Special Court.
Following the acquittal, his suspension was lifted. After the corruption case was filed, the Cabinet created a special post at the Planning Commission and transferred him to that position. #corruption #nepal #chiefsecretary
