Forty political parties registered in Election Commission

Kathmandu : Forty different political parties have registered their parties for the upcoming House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections till Saturday afternoon.

According to the Commission, parties including the nationally recognized CPN (UML), Loktantric Samajbadi Party (LSP), CPN (Unified Socialist) have registered their parties for the purpose of participating in the upcoming elections.

The commission has called for party registration from August 7 to 16 to participate in the election for the first-past-the-post system and proportional election system for the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly. It is said that the office of the commission will remain open even on public holidays and work related to the election will be carried out regularly.

Political parties that are registered with the commission until August 4, 2022 must register their parties again to participate in the upcoming House of Representatives and State Assembly member elections. Commission spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Paudel informed that the process of party registration is going on this Saturday as well.

On November 20, 2022, the election of the members of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly will be held in the same phase across the country.
