Four killed in jeep accident in Baitadi

PATAN (BAITADI): Four people have died when a jeep carrying the dead body of a ward member met with an accident in Baitadi, a district in far-western hilly region. Six others have been injured in the accident, local police informed.

According to police, the jeep (Se 1 Ja 183) carrying the body of Govinda Bhandari, a ward member of Pancheshwor-6, had met with an accident at Ganameshwor Mod of the same ward.

The deceased have been identified as Hikmat Bhandari, 27, Dammar Singh Bhandari, 30, Deepak Bhandari, 40, and Jit Singh Bhandari, 50, of Pancheshwor-6, said Police Inspector Darshan Khadka. He said they died on the spot.

The injured have been sent to the district hospital for treatment, Khadka said. The jeep is said to have fallen about 500 meters from the steepy road.
