Kathmandu, July 13: The body of Ganesh Nepali, a 25-year-old man from Mugu who died after setting himself on fire, was cremated at Aryaghat, Pashupatinath Temple Area, on Monday.
Nepali died on Friday while undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital after sustaining severe burn injuries.
On Thursday, he attempted self-immolation by pouring petrol over himself and setting himself alight outside the Department of Passports in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu.
According to reports, Nepali’s motorcycle had been wheel-locked by the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police. In protest over the incident, he allegedly poured petrol on himself and set himself on fire outside the Department of Passports.
He was immediately rescued and taken to Bir Hospital for emergency treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
His body was taken to Aryaghat for the final rites after the government and the victim’s family reached a nine-point agreement on Sunday. #nepal
