Global IME becomes highest tax paying bank



Kathmandu, Aug 13: Global IME Bank has been ranked first in the list of commercial banks that file the most taxes. Global IME Bank has ranked first in terms of taxes filed up to the end of Ashad of the financial year 2079/80.

According to the sources of the Ministry of Finance, Global IME Bank has filed taxes of Rs. 5.43 billion in 2079/80BS. This tax is the sum of all taxes paid by the bank under various headings throughout the year.

Global IME Bank made a net profit of Rs. 7.25 billion. This profit is 46.26 percent higher than the previous year. The bank filed a tax of Rs. 3.17 billion in the previous fiscal year 2078/79.

Global IME Bank, merging of 21 financial institutions, is one of the largest private sector commercial bank in the country based on paid-up capital.

Chandra Prasad Dhakal, the President of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), is the chairman of the board of directors of Global IME Bank, while Ratna Raj Bajracharya is the CEO of the bank.
