Kathmandu, Aug 11: Two Chinese nationals have been arrested from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in the case of gold smuggling.
The two Chinese nationals, who are under the surveillance of the Revenue Investigation Department, were arrested by the police team deployed at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 7:45 am on Friday.
Chinese nationals Lijia Lin and Liu Fuyan were arrested by the immigration team of the airport when they were about to fly to China.
The CIB, which has been entrusted with the investigation in this case, is investigating the connection of the Chinese in this case.
A TIA officials informed that the arrested Chinese national has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) of Nepal Police for further investigation.
The competent Nepali authorities have been investigating a 100-kg gold smuggling case from TIA.
