Kathmandu, Oct 20: Rupak Sapkota has been appointed as the foreign affairs advisor to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
A cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to appoint Sapkota as the foreign affairs advisor to Prime Minister Dahal. He is the son of CPN (Maoist Center) Vice-Chairman Agni Sapkota.
Who is Rupak ?
Rupak Sapkota is a professional with strong interpersonal skills and experience in high-level public relations and diplomacy. He has obtained his Doctorate Degree in International Relations (IR) from the Renmin University of China.
Currently, he is a Visiting Research Scholar at China West Normal University. He has been heavily involving in the research activities in China and South Asian issues that encompasses Security Studies, Geopolitical Studies, Small and Great Powers Relations, Governance and Development Studies, International Organizations, Strategic Studies of China-India-Nepal Relations and the idea of Trilateralism among these countries, Belt and Road Initiative and beyond.
Earlier, he was involved as a Visiting Research Fellow at Sun Yat-sen Unversity, China. He has obtained a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the Shandong University in China.
