Government Declares Public Holiday on Chaitra 24 (April 6)

Kathmandu, March 19: The government has decided to grant a public holiday on Chaitra 24 (April 6) to mark the day of declaration of ending absolute monarchism to democracy in Nepal. Public offices and government institutions will remain closed on that day.

Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, informed that the decision was made during Monday’s Cabinet meeting.

The meeting also decided to submit the government’s annual report for the fiscal year 2080/81 BS to the President, in accordance with Article 53 of the Constitution of Nepal and Section 41 of the Good Governance (Management and Operation) Act, 2064.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved the formation of a negotiation team, led by a Joint Secretary from the Ministry of Finance, to discuss grant assistance for the School Sector Reform Program through the World Bank.

Furthermore, the meeting appointed Naresh Raj Aryal as the Banking Member of the Debt Recovery Tribunal and Dinesh Prasad Bhatta as the Executive Director of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA). #nepal #cabinet
