Government recommends amnesty of 395 prisoners

Kathmandu, Feb 17: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has waived the remaining prison sentences of 395 prisoners.

On the recommendation of the government, President Bhandari pardoned the remaining prison sentences of 14 people including Pushkar Gautam and 381 people including Bishnukumar Limbu.

However, it’s not clear about the Member of Parliament Arun Kumar Chaudhary from Nagarik Unmukti Party. According to reports, the Attorney General of Nepal has recommended to the government to waive his sentences.

The government used to waive prison sentences on the auspicious day of Democracy Day (Falgun 7) every year.
