Kathmandu, Sept 5: The government has appointed Sangita Pahadi Aryal as the Managing Director of Nepal Telecom. The cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to hand over the leadership of Telecom to Pahadi.
She has been service as acting Managing Director since last Paush 17, 2080 BS. After the then MD of Telecom, Sunil Paudel, was found guilty in a corruption case, Nepal Telecom became leaderless. Pahadi was given the responsibility of managing director on behalf of the company by the ministerial decision.
The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology invited applications for the post of MD on Jesha 22, 2081 BS and 17 people had applied for it.
Bimal Acharya, Rajesh Joshi, Ananta Prakash Mallik, Prem Prasad Silwal, Krishna Prasad Bhandari, Laxman Maharjan, Subash Sah, Shalikram Subedi, Kamal Lamichhane, Kedarnath Koirala, Shaligram Parajuli and Buddhi Prasad Acharya of Telecom along with Acting Managing Director Pahadi submitted applications.
Chintamani Baral, Anil Kumar Jha, Nagendra Kumar Das and Ramesh Prasad Joshi from outside Telecom were also seen interested in taking over the leadership of Telecom. #NepalTelecom
