Kathmandu, Oct 13 : Former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has termed late leader Girija Prasad Koirala as a democratic leader.
Speaking in a programme organized by Girija Prasad Koirala Foundation here today, former President Yadav argued that the republic system was established in the country due to a strong leadership of Koirala.
He noted Koirala’s important roles in bringing then rebellion Maoist into the peace process.
Speaking in the programme Nepali Congress (NC) secretary general Dr Shashanka Koiarala said that late leader Koirala was a towering figure in Nepali politics and played vital roles in various peoples movement.
Similarly, NC leader Dr Parkash Sharan Mahat, Dr Shekhar Koirala, Sujata Koirala, Man Bahadur Bishwakarma among others had stressed the role of former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.
