Graduation ceremony of the Command and Staff Training completed



Kathmandu, Feb 27: The graduation ceremony of the 31st Command and Staff Training, which commenced on 2081 Baisakh 03 at the Command and Staff College, was successfully concluded.

The Chief Guest of the ceremony, Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Ashok Raj Sigdel, congratulated the trainee officers who successfully completed the training and extended his best wishes.

During the ceremony, CoAS Sigdel awarded Major Sajan Silwal with the Best Student Officer Award and Lieutenant Colonel Abhijit Roy of the Indian Army with the Best International Student Officer Award. He also unveiled the 26th edition of the Shivapuri Journal, the college’s annual publication.

In the same event, Tribhuvan University Vice-Chancellor Kesharjung Baral awarded Major Sajan Silwal for securing first place in the Master’s in Strategic Studies (MSS) Programme, while Deputy Commandant Brigadier General Manoj Thapa awarded Major Vivek Rai and Major Sichyan Moktan for securing first place in the Commandant’s Paper category.

A total of 67 officers successfully completed the training, including 54 officers from the Nepal Army, one officer each from Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and the National Investigation Department, and 10 international officers from Bangladesh, China, India, Kenya, Maldives, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

According to Nepal Army, the Command and Staff College, established on Poush 14, 2049 BS, conducted its first Command and Staff Training on Bhadra 20, 2050 BS, with 12 student officers.

Since 2010, international officers have been participating in the course. To date, the program has trained a total of 1,415 student officers, including 1,227 from the Nepal Army, 16 from Nepal Police, 28 from the Armed Police Force, 19 from the National Investigation Department, 1 from the Ministry of Defense, and 124 from various other countries.

The event was attended by senior army officers, former faculty members, senior officials from Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and the National Investigation Department, the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, military attachés from various embassies in Nepal, dignitaries from institutions associated with the college’s academic activities, as well as the families of officers and trainee officers. #NepalArmy #nepal #CoAS
