Kathmandu: The Grande International Hospital, Tokha has announced free service in 40-beds of the hospital to mark its 7th anniversary. The service will be provided free for the economically poor patients coming to the hospital.
Speaking at a function held on Friday to mark the 7th anniversary, Chairperson of the Hospital Dipak Kunwar said the Siddhartha Ward with 40-bed has been established to provide free service for the economically poor patients. “We also want to wipe out the general notion that this hospital is only for the rich people,” he said.
Mayor of Tokha municipality Prakash Adhikari pledged to provide all necessary support to the hospital on behalf of the local level government.
Hospital Director Dr Chakra Raj Pandey said during the seven years the hospital has provided service to more than 800,000 people including 4,000 foreigners. A total of 30,000 surgeries were performed with 41,000 emergency service and 3,000 helicopter rescue and service.
Since the past one year, the hospital has also been providing fellowship programme in sports medicine, spinal injury, emergency medicine and hepatopancreatic sector.
