Surkhet, Dec 10: Chief of Karnali Province Tilak Pariyar has said that guaranteeing human rights is the responsibility of a welfare state.
Extending his best wishes on the occasion of the 75th International Human Rights Day, he said that the Constitution of Nepal has ensured human rights as fundamental rights to the citizens, while also institutionalizing federalism, secularism, republicanism, proportional representation and inclusion.
Stating that it is satisfactory to note that constitutional and legal bodies provided by the Constitution, including the National Human Rights Commission, have been making concrete contribution to the respect, protection and promotion of human rights, he said it has paved the way to strengthen the process of protecting and respecting human rights in the country.
Pariyar has in his message also pointed out the need to have a common understanding, uniformity in work and effectiveness of all the agencies of the state in ensuring human rights to all.
